Not at all. Collegeville was recently voted "best bang for the school buck" in this area by a well known real estate site. People love the area, it has all the amenities close by, a great YMCA, lots of families.

1. Good Location for Resale- maybe also check out Lafayette Hill which is colonial schools and a very nice area. Andorra Woods have some lovely townhomes

When I was house shopping in that area several years ago, I commented to my realtor that I would think being within view of the Limerick Power Plant would deter people from buying. She remarked that she would have thought so, but the new developments in Linfield which are spitting distance from the plant sold out like hotcakes. Of course things have slowed a bit now, but most people living in that area don't think twice about that power plant.

I was so concerned because I thought any rumor about the reactor could bring down the property prices and logically there is no risk in buying a house near the reactor but rumors can play a dirty game on you. This is what one of realtor told me.

I would never buy a house within proximity of a power plant. Power plants pollute the local rain water and ground water despite claims to the contrary. The reason people buy near such areas is because the builder makes it attractive and buildable land is generally scarce in Philly metro. That doesn't mean it is a good investment, it almost certainly is not. If just 10%-20% of those shopping for a house in that town won't buy it because of the plant, your value will suffer.

Conshohocken area has several regional rail stops and is also fairly convenient to KOP, Norristown, and Collegeville. It's central to all the major area highways and there is a good amount of new construction. I don't have kids so I can't really comment on the school district.
