Hi,

My wife and I are moving from Paris (France) to Philadelphia this May with our 7 months old daughter.

We're currently looking for an accomodation in City Center West as close as possible from 30th St Station as I'll be working in NYC.

We're also looking for children daycare solutions within the area.

We're not familiar with daycare in the US (e.g. location, working hours, price) ...

Any ideas, suggestions or share of past experience will be greatly appreciated ! Thank you very much !

The National Association for the Education certifies that preschools/daycares are safe, sanitary and educationally appropriate for young children. They are the gold standard in the US, but not as many Philadelphia area schools seek accreditation for some reason, I'm assuming because local parents don't demand it as they do in other major US metros.

From the NAEYC.org accreditation link here's some places to check out. If they do not fit your needs, check out PAKEYS.org and look for 4 (accredited), 3 (nearly accredited) and 2 (working on accreditation) Star places but do keep in mind this is the Pennsylvania state standard and is not rigorous at all.

Good Luck and welcome to Philly!
