Which neighborhoods/developments in Doylestown are within walking distance to the downtown area, if any? We may be considering a move there, but my biggest criteria is that I want to be able to walk everywhere. Where I live now, I can walk to supermarkets, the library, the community center, stores, and parks. Are there neighborhoods or specific streets I should target if I wish to do the same in Doylestown? Thanks so much!

My mother used to live in Doylestown, in the Fonthill Apartments on Fonthill Drive - which is in the area of North Street, East Street, Court Street.

She never drove, and just loved living there - she could walk to Genuardi's, Acme, the hair place, to McDonalds, Burger King, Friendly's, any of those stores in the shopping centers.

There are very nice houses in that area. It's a nice place to live, convenient to everything.

Thanks so much for answering. I've been studying the Doylestown Boro Map and I think I am getting a better feel for the downtown. We will be visiting this weekend so I should have a better sense once I see it in person. Thanks!

Smile Moving to doylestown

I relocated to Doylestown from Brooklyn and SI NY 10 years ago. Coming from NY I always walked everywhere, so much so that there were many times I didn't even own a car. When relocating I specifically requested the realtor to show me houses only in the Boro of Doylestown. This is the town area and it is just lovely. I walk everywhere, including to work. The Boro is most desirable, although all of Doylestown is just great. It is one of the best decisions we have ever made. You will love it here! There is no place like it. Happy looking.
