What do you consider "not too expensive"? Looking to rent or buy, single family detatched or townhouse, etc.?

Not sure about your requirements...$ to spend, rent/buy, suburbs/city/walking town etc...that being said, if I were commuting to PHL, looking for family oriented/safe places...I would look into Media, PA in Delaware County and Collingswood, NJ.
Both safe, both easy commutes to the airport, but have nice little downtowns, and both have a range of housing that is not overly expensive.
If you can add more light on your search, others can probably add more as well. Good luck!
