About 50-55 minutes on the R2 train to and from 30th Street Add 5 and 10 minutes to Suburban Station and Market East, respectively.

Damned... 55 mins? I drove it and it only took me 30 mins. (I live by the airport, though)

I drive. That direction it's sort of a reverse commute, with more people going the opposite direction.
I'm not a public transit person.

Exactly where are you commuting from?

We're not sure yet as my wife may be accepting a job in Philadelphia and I may be accepting one in Delaware. We are going to build a home in New Jersey but while it is being built we were trying to find an apartment in Philadelphia. This way she would ahve a short commute and then I could just take the train in to Wilmington.

IF you're:
- commuting to Delaware (I drove that commute for 10 years. It was fine)
- She's working in Phila.
- And you want easy access to Jersey....

Please check out the garden style apartments in Penrose Park. They're built by Korman. They're about 35 years old. They're suburban like, and you CAN"T BEAT the convenience to 95 (5 mins), the airport (10 mins), getting to jersey or downtown (15 mins).

There are at least three styles or apt community names. the Suites, The Mews, etc.

I recommend the area highly. Family is still there, with a paid off house I hope to retire to years from now, and I go home fourtimes a year -- AND we got an apartment for my 91-year-old aunt there - so you know that means we we very comfortable with the place.

Now for rent - over 1,000 a month easy. (Her rent for a 1 BR-den ground floor apt in 1995 was 900)

You can't drive from Center City to downtown Wilmington in 30 minutes. Not during rush hour. 55 minutes is pretty competitive especially when you're talking about getting there, sticking your car in a garage and walking to your office.

Even from my house in South Philly to the Trolley Square area takes 40 minutes off-peak.
