An afterlife, I would not say yay or nay...if there is I hope it's FUN. I've done my work in this NOW life...i guess that's what it is.
On happiness I had two times in my almost 81 yrs that stand out for me:
After 10 yrs of struggling with a clinical depression and seeing MD's for all those years and not getting help but just more A/D druigs....an O.D. I had seen for my back "got it"...he called in for thyroid support med, no labs no nothing, and in 4 days depression was gone.
Then in 1995 and finding Pycnogenol antioxidant and we were told it MAY prevent cancer(S) I got on it and decades of allergy and sinus issues were GONE. Then I found Grape Seed Extract and it's going on 24 yrs of these antioxidants.
Members on some of the boards make fun of my talking about these but that's on them, not my issue.
I believe these were two of my "happiest times" in my life and got me to re-thinking on the whole medical world. And how to heal.
Yes life isn't all about being happy all the time. You do what you must in life to get by. Everyone wants to think they are a special snowflake. Reality is we are just trying to get by. Keep your head down, stay busy and keep on moving. Happiness is like any other emotion, it pops up when situation is necessary. I agree being content is a goal. Means you are okay and accepting of things.
