Does anyone know which auction house sells quality furniture in Phoenix?
Some auction houses primarily get junk and old, rusty items, but I am looking for the auction houses that sell top quality items for decent prices for furniture
items. Help!

I'mn frankly not sure there is one. Ebay, craigslist, estate sales, garage sales, and classified ads all prevail here in terms of sales of "previously owned" furniture. There used to be an auction place on 7th St, I think, but I'm not sure it's still there, and I wasn't all that impressed the one time years ago I walked around in there.

Here are a few that I know about:

Phoenix Furniture Auction

http://www.a1auctionphoenix.com/about.html

http://delaneyauction.com/

I have been to the Phoenix Furniture Auction many times in the past when they were at other locations and got some decent deals. Some items are a little pricey IMO. I have not been to their new location near Tatum and Cactus.

I've been to A1 Auction and I don't think that's what TootsieWootsie is looking for.

Thanks for all the tips. I have already looked each up and bookmarked them.

Like I said, I am looking for an auction that sells more upscale furniture cheap (I hope). I am trying to find chairs and other items I can reupholster, so you want the better furniture for that.

I had great luck @ mesa auction - the prices go up then the temps come down though. There usually isn't much older or antique stuff there, it seems to be mostly old store displays.

I bought a bedroom set there that was just missing a nightstand and was able to mail-order the missing nightstand from a company in California( by way of China! )

Be careful though, some of what they sell is chinese furniture that looks an awful lot like the name-brand stuff in the stores - only it's made of "Rubberwood - a member of the Maple species"...

It isn't bad furniture - especially compared to what is in the stores, but if you get a nick in the finish on a "rubberwood" piece, the wood so waxy/oily that regular furniture polish won't stick.

For what we paid, I certainly can't complain - just don't expect to buy a $10k set for $500.

I can also recommend the Ron Brunk Auction but MY personal favorite is the Chuck Delaney auction on Wednesday night starting about 7 p.m. It's located between 35th and 43rd Avenue - I want to say on Osborn. My car just knows the way. They get stuff from Ashley and everywhere by the truck loads. I often see four poster bedroom sets go for $1200 that I have seen at the Roomstore (or elsewhere) for $4-$5K. I guess it depends where you live - I live right between both of them!!
