Repair and restoration is on schedule.

This time the water will be from a dam release at Roosevelt Lake. (http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/dpp/news/local/tempe/work-begins-on-tempe-town-lake-08252010 - broken link)

Restoration underway with another rubber dam that will be prone to bursting again in the extreme heat.

How brilliant and forward-thinking the minds are around here, and I mean that ever-so sarcastically.

I don't why Tempe is sticking with the rubber dam - though I think they're getting the repairs paid for under some sort of warranty agreement from the manufacturer.

They are right to take this replacement dam under this deal with the manufacturer. It will buy time to find the money for a different option.

I believe a different option is already in the planning stage. As you said this will give them time to develop those plans. In the meantime the manufacturer is paying for the replacement.

Either way, I think it's comical how some started a thread and implied that Tempe Town Lake was forever gone. Typical CD overreaction! I remember reading that and calling out the OP and others who started that.

I posted a thread with that title the night of the burst Bye Bye Tempe Town. The context of the post wasnt saying I hope its gone forever. I live in Tempe and know the benefits of the lake.
