First of all, you cannot find the hours of operation of BuyDirect, so if anyone knows that it would be appreciated.
Secondly, has anyone ever gone there and purchased from them or even just looked around? And do they really save you money?
I hate to waste the time and gas going there if it isn't worth it really.

Did you mean Direct Buy? If you did you might want to check out their complaint history, high pressure tactics and high fees. There is also a thread about them in CD's Shopping forum.

Here's a link to get you started and much more if you Google them.

Here is the CD thread from the Shopping forum.

I had the high-pressure salesman come out back when we lived in Detroit... If you won't sign up instantly they'll threaten to "ban you for life"...

They were quoting "great deals" on remodeling , which is a pretty silly for the Phoenix metro area, since we have tens of thousands of skilled contractors who are eating ramen right now.

They also said they had great "deals" on appliances, but I really don't see them beating Costco or the internet for pricing.

I had a sales gal drive me nuts last year and they do have a membership fee that I believe is monthly just like Costco. I would have to buy a lot of stuff to make it worthwhile. They may have changed their policy since then so who knows.

My stepfather bought into this and it's a scam. He got a better deal on a shed at Costco and DirectBuy refused to meet Costco's price. He then demanded his membership $ back. Not sure if he got it.

Well, that seems unanimous. My friend also stated she felt it was a scam...don't need that at all in my life. Thanks, folks.

There are a fair number of websites that rate this kind of thing. And sometimes companies post "good" reviews to cover up the bad ones, so even these are not completely reliable.

Best is to remember the old advice...if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
