Since I work from home, I can choose any part of metro PHX to reside. But I do have a teenager son, wondering which area (or ZIP) has the best public schools? Thanks!

In the Phoenix area, it's (generally) not the school district that is most important, but the individual schools within the districts that your child would attend.
The most simplest I've heard it said (from Ponderosa, I think): the mid-to-high income areas will all have good schools. The higher the income, the better the chance of the schools being classified as "excelling".
This website should help: Best Schools in Phoenix - Find a Good School in Maricopa County

Try GreatSchools - Public and Private School Ratings, Reviews and Parent Community this website is great and you'll find all kind of information including actual parental reviews of the schools.

When I lived in central Phoenix I had kids in the Osborn district, in elem. and middle schools and they were both great schools, they also had free after school programs for sports, music etc.
Now Im up North in Deer valley district and while it's ok I was disappointed the elementary school has no sports programs. But my daughter likes it and is doing awesome there .

I'm now wondering if the poster is just writing an article. His questions seem to come in increments, with bits of information provided like breadcrumbs.

Madison has always been one of the best. Involved parents in the better areas of Phoenix. Money.
