We've had some good threads about the economy, and some differing opinions. I thought it would be a good idea if forum members would report HELP WANTED signs here. Please give business name and location. Please, do not mention job listings from other sources, just looking for the good ole fashioned HW signs.

I've seen help wanted signs, especially back in late November/early December. For example, the Aaron Brothers Art Mart/Framing Store at Tatum and Shea had a sign in the window for a few weeks prior to the holiday season.

It would be interesting to note how many and what types of businesses actually still engage in the practice of a Help Wanted sign in the window. I think many businesses end up doing that because they don't have enough applicants, which is odd in this economic climate.

I'll keep an eye out and hope others will as well.

There had been a HW sign in the front window of Wendy's at 7th and IS. It's gone.

Nowadays the internet is the best resource to find job openings. I'd start with classifieds on azcentral.com (the AZ Republic's website). Then there are a number of job search websites (Monster, jobing, jobs, careerbuilder, etc, etc, etc). Then there are the individual company's websites.
I'm not sure why anyone would limit themselves to "help wanted" signs only....

No one said they were.......It wasn't that long ago that Public Schools had signs for Substitute Teachers and or Bus Drivers on signs at the entrance or on the school buses. It's just another indicator.

Could you be more specific Pondo, or are you worried about the competition?

Minimum wage I am sure, but it's something. Church's Chicken place on Central south of Van Buren (Avondale).

Saw one today at Delia's Cleaners in south Tempe. It wasn't just for that store, it was for the company- talked about expansion, hiring management and other employees, "apply within" or it had a web address as well.
