I am possibly getting relocated to Pheonix. I am from Chicago and am not realy looking forward to the move ( I hate the heat!). I am looking for some advice on the most family friendly low crime areas in Pheonix. I will be working at the airport and do not mind somewhat of a commute but hubby is an IT and will work who knows where! Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thank You,
Emily

I live in Chandler, it's a nice suburb of Phoenix. Stay away from AZ Ave. and Alma School if it's North of Frye. Big mall, plenty of generic new eateries.
If you don't like the heat, your not going to like it here. I'm sorry if you don't have a choice. Even in the winter, until Jan. it's in the 70's and 80;s. I'm sure your familiar with the summer temps. 105-118 for months! Maybe you'll like it more than you think though. We are really set up for hot down here. Lots and lots of air condition.

Oh Gosh ... I hate the heat too, so I feel for you.
I've been here 7 years and can't wait to escape the heat someday soon
I would suggest looking into the Awahtukee area. It's nice ... not too bad a commute from the airport. It's between Gilbert and Tempe

Ahwatukee is the most southern part of Phoenix. South of South Mountain and west of Tempe and Chandler. Not between Gilbert and Tempe.
