Can anyone tell me if W. Ray and Alma School is a decent neighborhood? And how long of a commute to Intel would it be? We are looking for a rental for a year or two until we get to know the area.

Yes it is a decent neighborhood and the commute to Intel from there is about 5 miles which is 10 to 15 minutes or so of driving. Of course I am going by the location of Intel at 5000 W. Chandler Blvd. I believe Intel has several locations in the Phoenix area.

ray and alma, not bad
lets see, how do i put this... chandler rocks, SUPER walmarts do not. luckily the walmart a mile away from you is not a SUPER walmart... just your regular open 24 hours a day walmart. which is convenient, but you see a strange mix of people there. lots of new stuff going up in chandler, so i'm excited to see what it turns into. traffic is pretty much nonexistant in chandler during the day, because most people work in phoenix or scottsdale. takes me about 8 minutes to drive 4 miles
there's construction going on the warner/alma school intersection right now... but it should be done soon. hit up chandler mall and the areas around ray/mcclintock and marvel at everything being right at your fingertips, shiny new buildings going up, couple huge mansions, family homes, etc. there's nothing really worth exploring east of arizona avenue at the moment. everything fun is west towards the 101, and of course tempe
if you like healthfood stores and cute coffee shops/nice area to sit with a fountain, hit up Sprouts Farmers Market area on Ray and Dobson (North East corner).

ray and alma, not bad
there's construction going on the warner/alma school intersection right now... but it should be done soon. hit up chandler mall and the areas around ray/mcclintock and marvel at everything being right at your fingertips, shiny new buildings going up, couple huge mansions, family homes, etc. there's nothing really worth exploring east of arizona avenue at the moment. everything fun is west towards the 101, and of course tempe
