Hi folks. My aunt is coming to visit me this Thursday, in the Glendale area. She doesn't eat red meat. Can anyone recommend some good places?

There are plenty of salad buffet restaurants like Sweet Tomatoes and Super Salad, they don't serve meat except in some of the soup choices.

What does she eat? Any particular area of glendale? Are other meats an option (fish, chicken, pork?)

Try the Pita Jungle up on Bell Road in Glendale.

Check out the menu here Welcome to Pita Jungle!

Also, La Piazza al Forno, in downtown Glendale, has some meatless dishes that are delicious. They do more than pizza.

Check them out here La Piazza Al Forno - Glendale | Urbanspoon

I've been to the Yard House in the Glendale Westgate Center and I know they offer meatless/chicken/fish dishes. http://www.yardhouse.com/AZ/glendale/

Pita Jungle is a favorite of mine....though a small chain, it's locally owned.....they seem to work hard on having a healthy menu

My significant other has eaten at Kiss the Cook in Glendale and loves it.

I haven't been there yet but from what I hear it offers a healthier choice of meals.

Of interest might be the Twilight Farmers Market in Glendale. I've never been. Do call to make sure it is still active.

Also, Siam Thai at 51st Ave & Glendale has received some positive buzz. Same thing for Japan Express.

Not sure of your price point, and if you say she doesn't eat red meat, does that mean seafood and chicken in addition to vegetarian dishes? If so...I'll mention my Glendale favorites:

Two mentioned above - I've only been once when they first opened, but liked Siam Thai. Nice that they had their own herb garden. I also second La Piazza al Forno as mentioned already. Family owned place. Very casual, friendly spot. For you Neapolitan Italian pizza aficionados - they were just VPN certified:
Italian organization certifies Glendale's La Piazza al Forno

Arrowhead Grill. Steakhouse with great seafood and nice sides/salads. Not a chain, chef-owned.

Tutti Santi. Italian. I love any of the specials, seafood, homemade pastas, and they recently started doing their wood-oven pizzas again (but only Sunday-Monday). They're in the same spot as the farmers market JKGourmet mentioned (Citadelle Plaza). Tip: For their Happy Hour (5-6 I think), all apps in the link below - hot and cold - are half price.

I also just tried a 3-week old place called Betty's Nosh. Very casual and a nice friendly vibe to the place. They have an outdoor patio and one of those indoor/outdoor bars I love where, when the weather is nice, they pull up the big windows so you can still have the air conditioning but enjoy the weather. Also very veg-friendly as they're doing a "mushroom bar" with 20+ different stuffed mushrooms (buttons or portabellos and you pick your sauce, stuffing, etc). I've only been for lunch so far, but liked it a lot. My husband had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich, and I had the shrimp scampi stuffed shrimp. For locals - it's in the old Sportsman's.
Betty's Nosh - Who is Betty?

Just blurry camera pics this week, but if you scroll down, #6 (calamari) and #7 (antipasti plate) are from Tutti Santi, and #12 and #13 are from Betty's Nosh.
