Post away, I'm sure we all have lots of things we could write.

Here's one of my pet peeves.

I'm on the 202 Loop in normal slow and go crush hour traffic. The traffic flow comes to a stopping point, but when the traffic starts moving again the car ahead of me doesn't move for a long time, then suddenly revs his engine and accelerates to a very unsafe speed only to have to slam on his brakes and skid to a stop when the traffic slows up again.

This forces me and the traffic behind him in the same lane to slam on our brakes, risking a very serious accident.

Who else has witnessed similar traffic incidents or others just as stupid?

I loathe those idiots that will nearly cut you off to merge onto the freeway and then not accelerate.

I doubt that either of the above are unique to Phoenix. Most traffic issues are not unique to one large city. Other than just general venting and griping, is this thread of any use as a "Phoenix" thread?

Yes, very annoying.

Another is the slow-moving big rig in the left lane causing miles of backup.

It can be unique to Phoenix.

It's also more of an interesting topic than all the tired-out threads we see here frequently, particularly all the ones about bugs, scorpions, and other creepy-crawlies imho.

What's wrong with venting, as long as it doesn't get out of control?

You are so right about this. So I'll add something that is unique to Phoenix - man made lakes plopped in areas surrounded by heavy traffic. That does a lot to offer a serene and peaceful feeling. With the exception of Encanto Park, I can't think of a one here worth going to and that includes Tempe Town Lake, with jets flying over every single one or two minutes.

Oops, just realized this thread is about traffic. Well, there is traffic in every city, so you are correct.

Traffic gripes are ubiquitous, and there's nothing unique about Phoenix traffic. Feel free to post this thread in the "Other Topics" forum. I think they even have an ongoing "gripes" thread. This one is now closed.
