And my HO insurance never even asked if I had dogs.

Pit Bulls are sweet and are just like other dogs. Yes there are bad ones, just like any other breed. Honestly, with all the Pit Bulls in the world today, there would be A LOT more attacks and maulings. Learn about the breed and get experience before you judge.

I volunteer at Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and Pit Bulls account for more than half of the dogs present in the pound. (All I do there is take them for walks and love on them) It's a very sad world. I play with so many breeds, especially Pit Bulls, because I love them, and they're not dangerous. No one knows their past, why they're there, if they've been overbred, abused, etc., but they sure do appreciate being loved on and walked, and man do they show it! They are lovers. They absolutely love you for taking them on a walk or snuggling, be it a Pit Bull, Chihuahua, Chow or Lab. Some Pits may not like other dogs, but hey, my Lab doesn't like other dogs either. My Pits are the ones welcoming everyone into my home. Restrictions should be based more on animals' ages as opposed to breeds. My dogs were insane as puppies and destroyed a LOT of stuff. Now that they're older they're calmer.
As for the neighbors, try to find out if you can nab them for tax evasion, I'm sure they're not claiming, or paying taxes on, their income from poor Momma dog. I completely agree with you on anti-breeding. I mean, responsible breeding is okay, if it's done RESPONSIBLY, to keep the breed alive. But, if breeding stopped right now for 10 years, we could get homes for all of those poor souls put to death too soon, just because they got too old, or too big, or any other excuse people can find to get rid of their family member.
Don't shop, pets are not accessories. Opt to adopt!!

Has anyone else watched the show Pit Boss? There is a man that has a passion for the breed. BTW, I rescued a German Short Haired Pointer/Pit Bull mix - best dog ever.

If you want to discuss dogs or certain breeds of dogs, there's a general forum for that. Back to topic, please.

this is stupid Dogs are not born with the intent to harm people . it is the people that raise them to be mean. I am been having a hard time finding anyone to live with my 13 year old Chow Spitz mixed. I am not giving my dog away , she has never harmed anyone, and fact she saved my son life shortly after we got her from the pound. I love that dog like she one my kids, and it breaks my heart to see that no where will allow me to rent or buy with her. She is 65lbs of licking you to death , or stealing your food from the table , couch paper weight kind of dog. Hell at her age she does'nt have many teeth left and she does not go outside unless she needs to potty.
need to stop this crap and only punish people for raising their dogs to mean. I have raised my dogs to love everyone. they would never harm someone else.

I hear what you are saying - but if your dog is "stealing your food from the table," there's been a serious lack if training.

Although you've brought back four year old thread for no apparent reason beyond venting, I'll add that getting our dog documented through the AKC Canine Good Cituzen test did wonders when we needed rental properties. Highly recommended.

Find an older home to buy where there is no HOA or find an HOA that does not have dog breed restrictions. Not all landlords would exclude your dog, either. I don't agree with breed restrictions either, but HOAs can impose them if they wish.
