Journey2, what neighborhood are you buying in? If you don't mind me asking. We also like Chandler. Honestly, I really am not sure where to go but I am nervous that I am going to end up in a terrible area. We need a great realtor!!! Any suggestions?

mrsmc, Chandler is a great place to live, however, given your desires, there are some areas you would want to avoid. The home prices in Chandler are about $10/sf higher than Gilbert.

If Gilbert will not be a challenge for commuting, then you're more likely to find what you're looking for there. As I mentioned before, there are homes in your price range in Gilbert.

There are several good Realtors that contribute on this forum. Check them out and contact one, or interview all of them.

Feel free to PM me and I'll explain some of the buying process to help ease your concerns about buying in the wrong area, and other issues. The other Realtors on the forum would also be willing to speak with you.

Mrsmc - I have sent you a message, I would have recommended our realtor too except he is moving State so we are his last clients.
We were nervous too about buying, this is a new experience to buy in a different country for us, but I am happy to say so far it is working out really well for us
