I've been with State Farm since the 1980s (when I was a young man) because my parents have been with State Farm since perhaps the 50s or early 60s. I did not shop around. Both car insurance and homeowners insurance or renter's insurance (after bailing out of real estate many years ago).

I have State Farm homeowners' insurance and have been very happy with it.

We have a home warranty with Service One Home Warranty. It was set to expire a month or two ago and my wife and I thought about not renewing it.

Then the motor on one of our A/C condensers went out. They referred us to an A/C company that got out to the house in two days and replaced the motor. The repair guy told me it would have been ~$500+ without the warranty.

All we paid was for the service call and renewed when it was time.
