My guess is that shipping to a storage unit, especially around a university, is nothing new. They probably give the driver access to your unit, so you'd need to pick a shipping company that delivers and unloads, like UPS when they deliver to a house. Call the storage places to be sure.
Thanks, will give these a try.

Since I'll be moving cross country, I've been looking for the cheapest solution, and the price I was quoted by ABF/Upack was much lower than PODS. I will mostly be moving boxes, not furniture, but I have a LOT of boxes (a 5x10 storage unit full).

Anyway, what I found out from ABF/Upack is that if you don't know exactly where you're moving yet, you can have them store the stuff locally, and then you just call them when you find your place in Arizona and they arrange for delivery then. They do charge a monthly fee for storage and it's not cheap, but that's the way I'm going to do it, because I have no idea where in Arizona I'm going to land, as it all depends on what's available in my price range when my house sells. I could end up anywhere from Sierra Vista to Kingman.

The only thing I'm not sure about with upack is the pickup situation where I am. I will just ask them how they deal with it. I'm currently in a very urban, busy section of New Jersey, and there is absolutely no place to park a semi truck. It's hard enough to park a subcompact, which is why I no longer own a car.

I guess I'll just ask them if they've dealt with this before.

They're probably used to dealing with that, as people move to/from urban areas all the time. The only difference might be that they won't be able to leave the truck there overnight. They told me they'll park the truck here at my house and give me 3 days to pack it. But I'm rural and have plenty of room for a truck in my yard. In an urban situation, they might want you to load it while the driver is there and then he'll take the truck, which shouldn't take too long since you don't have all that much to move. 20 boxes can be loaded pretty fast.

Ah, it seems uPack has a new Pod/box thing called Relocube. Must be a booming segment of the market. Their online quote was $1000 more than uBox though. I will confirm the details of the quote with uHaul to make sure I'm not missing something, but so far it seems to be the cheapest by a lot.

Make sure to tell them what city you're in and where you might be moving to, if you go for a cube, regardless of who you use. Upack doesn't do cubes in my location, so they bring a truck. PODS does my current location, but wouldn't do Kingman if I end up there, so I'd be stuck having to have it delivered to a different town in Arizona and having to use a different company take my stuff from there to Kingman.

Good point. I'm sure I'll end up using the one that actually has service to both areas.
