I love these things. What's better than a dog wrapped in bacon and topped with a variety of Mexican condiments and a chili? I'm starting this thread in hopes there are others that enjoy Sonoran dogs and to keep tabs of where they can be found in the Phoenix area. So far I know of three places:

Francis & Sons Car Wash
9444 North 19th Avenue
Phoenix, AZ 85021

A woman operates a cart here at night. Found her last night as I was driving past. Stopped by and had one of the best dogs I've ever had. She said she's posted here every night. However, I did forget the same of her cart. Not hard to find though. This car wash is located near a Sonic just north of Hatcher on the west side.

Micky's Hot Dogs
108 W Broadway Rd
Mesa, AZ 85210

You can find this place on Broadway & S MacDonald. Great Sonoran dogs. They sell Mexican food too but I've only had the dogs.

The third location is on the east side of Priest/Del Yaqui in Guadalupe. I came across this cart driving home from IKEA one night. There was a cart and canopy set up in the front parking lot of, if I remember correctly, a junkyard. Of the 3 places I've tried this was my least favorite but still very good. Here they served the dogs with crushed potato chips on top (an interesting choice of topping).

Please add your favorite locations. I'd like to know of other places I can get Sonoran dogs in the Phoenix area. In a perfect world I'd have a go to place for any part of the valley I might find myself in.

Morenos on Arizona Ave between Chandler & Ray.

Bonus = stones throw from another place with good tortas, although I can't recall the name of it.

Sorry - just checked Yelp and looks like it's at 20th/Indian School. I've only been there late night (after 10pm).

If the address given on Yelp for Nogales is correct and GoogleMaps is mapping the location correctly, the cart is located at Indian School & 20th Street.

Wow this sounds tasty - I used to make 'em at home - never knowing it was Sonoran - but I would add the cheese packed into a slit in the dog - add bacon - cooked off - added salsa and wrapped it in a tortilla --- we called them Mexican Hot Dogs..

How I wish Costco would offer this tasty delight -- I'll have to try one soon! Thanks!

Def. 20th St/Indian School on the south side across from 7Eleven. I'm here right now and it's pretty good. Do check it out one day.

Thanks for the info Bondurant. We saw the sign in the parking lot there, but there was no van, guess they were running a little late that day.
