On the news recently they were talking about a peanut shortage and prices of PB going up. Went to Costco (Arrowhead) yesterday and talked to someone there who's estimating PB will go up at least 115%.
Needless to say it was selling at a brisk pace, many empty flats just sitting on a short stack. I just got a message from family in northern CA that both the Costco stores by them are completely out of PB right now with no idea when/if it'll be back in.
They were saying on the news there that no crop was planted for this year and last year was very bad.
Just left Costco Business center and they had about 1/2 pallet left.

Just thought if you like anything with peanuts in it or use PB you may want to stock up on some.

Love peanut butter, just wish it wasn't so fattening, I can never eat it.

growing your own is the way to go anyway. You don't get old, fake, nasty, corporate peanut butter.

OMG I have to eat PB everyday. I don't live there yet, maybe I should buy a case before I move out there!

I'm thinking this is a national (global?) thing, not something to do with Phoenix.

National for certain, global? Probably. As of yesterday afternoon Costco had double packs still for $8.39. I doubt Costco or Sams will change the price until stock runs out. If you know anyone in the food business Restaurant Depot should still have some as well.

I eat a lot of peanut butter because it is a cheap source of protein and calories that doesn't require refrigeration.

Looks like I'm about to lose the 'cheap' part. Now what will I eat?
