Skelton all the way IMO. Just because he went to a no name Football school like Fordham doesn't mean he has any less ability than Korn on the Kolb. Kolb only is guaranteed 21 million so the 5 year commitment is very misleading despite it being at like 62 million. Here are the cold hard facts on this "I can't do a John Elway comeback" of a QB.

1) He's 1-8 as a starter when you factor in his games in Philly in 2010 before Vick replaced him.

2) Here's the kicker. Kolb has made 30 million dollars since April 2010. Yes. The Eagles gave Kolb a 10 million dollar signing bonus in April 2010 after they traded McNabb but before Vick became the starter.

Has ANYONE made more money for doing less ? Well maybe Paris Hilton. Anyhow, this Kolb has failed 4 times this year in one possession losses this year. That is a lack of mental stones any way you look at it.

Given that Skelton passed for over 300 yards against (atleast on paper) a formidable Eagles secondary, I don't believe Kolb would have won even if healthy. Sure as hell wouldn't of passed for over 300 or led them on a game winning drive.

Bottomline, Kolb has been coddled and has had excuses made for him since last year. In Philly, it wasn't his fault he had no chemistry with DeShaun Jackson. Now, he has arguably the best WR in football as a toy. What's his excuse now with Fitz ?

I honestly think it's too early to commit to one guy over the other.

You have to remember Skelton was with this team all of last year so he knows the plays much better and is much more comfortable with the team. Skelton did well in the game yesterday but in the game against the Rams, it was the defense that won that game and Peterson on the return, Skelton didn't have all that much to do with it...but it is a team win so he does get some credit.

Kolb did show some promise in early games where they lost by just one or two points, could have gone either way (sort of like the Rams game went the Cardinals way). Kolb also lost games against Baltimore and Pittsburg, while Skelton won against the Rams and Eagles...same outcome that Skelton got could of happened if they swapped the games played. Skelton also seemed to get more time in the pocket than Kolb has been getting...but that could be because Kolb seems to run out of it after approx. 0.05 seconds after the snap. :P

I say they should start Skelton vs the 49ers this Sunday since there is some momentum there and it will help in continuing to evaluate him. The season is shot though, we aren't making the playoffs so I do think that once Kolb is healed, they need to start him a few games as well and evaluate.

We shouldn't feel bad about trading/paying for Kolb though...as an article on AZCentral said, had we not gotten Kolb, Fitzgerald may very well have not resigned and would be playing for the Vikings next year.
