LOL, I know what you mean. I am Hispanic, but fluent in English and a little "lazy" in Spanish, but I get mean and rude looks from other Hispanics who are native Spanish speakers and most likely recent immigrants. There is this kind of animosity against Mexican Americans/Chicanos/Tejanos, etc. from Mexican immigrants. I guess they don't consider us "real" latinos, LOL! I have been told this before. Don't worry trudawg, you're not the only one who gets this treatment. It really bugs me when ordering food! Then they say something rude in Spanish, and I usually let them know I understand what they are saying! LOL...

Not for nothing but I know a lot of people who were rude and fake and they werent from Ny, they were natives so there are good and bad all over...
