You could take them to Pete and Mac's doggie day care. They can socialize inside - they even have little pools so they can splash around. The bad part is that you can't play with them.

I bet someone will invent an indoor dog park sometime in the future. There are probably enough people in this area who would use it, especially if there were people tables to sit at, have coffee, talk and get to know others. Sorta like an indoor ice arena. Anyone have any funds to invest???

You know, there's enough big box stores that've closed up and now sit empty maybe there's an idea there?
Use astroturf so it can be washed down regularly, set up a few different areas by dog size and have some obstacle courses maybe? Training classes, pet care classes like when/how to trim nails, coat trimming skills and a u-groom-it area?

I don't think there's enough dog park users. But I often thought there should be a dog park/gym/cafe. May as well get some exercise while your dog does.

Well, there's another idea. How about talking to a smaller gym about a "doggie time" where fido can run on the treadmill next to you or share it with you (not at the same time of course).

Are you just moving here? You'll learn to get up EARLY to get things like this done. Real early. Like pre-dawn until you get your "I'm a Zonie" pin.

I think that is a brilliant idea. I bet it would be packed in the summer months.

Default Indoor air conditioned dog parks

I have just started to look into this as my dog is getting older and I see a marked difference in his energy level as the temperature rises. I have been taking him to Granada park twice a day for several years. This is a great park about a half a mile square with two lakes, wide expanses of grass and rich flora and fauna. I can still take him in the mornings as the sun comes up but I'm afraid the heat is a bit much for him in the afternoons. I have not found an ac indoor dog park as such. There are a number of private boarding facilities with these features but not suitable for public consumption. Sky harbor has some shaded facilities but outside. I have not checked to see if they are climate controlled but initially it appears they are not. I might go down there to see what they are like later. If anyone else has any info please let me know. I will keep searching.
