I imagine Scottsdale is like the rest of the country. If you are Muslim and aren't on a personal JIHAD against those that might offend you there will be few problems.

The Phoenix metropolitan may be conservative but it doesn't share the heavy Christian Evangelical element and culture that is profound in other states. Fortunately, the Valley is pretty tolerant of people of different faiths and you don't have mega churches and local Evangelical television shows like you find in places like Texas.

Unfortunately, there is a large group of people in this country that discriminate against people of different cultures, faiths and races. And now they justify their discrimination by using the term "Westernized or Americanized" aka "It's okay to be Muslim as long as you don't wear the scarf on your head and speak Arabic in public." That type of thinking is found in places like Nebraska and the deep South but fortunately it's not here and definitely not in Scottsdale.
