Just to bring this up to date, Merchant's Square does not buy anything themselves. Nor do they refer anyone to their vendors. They suggested ebay or craigslist or a garage sale and "Our vendors will find you."

So, I'm still looking to sell those crystal wine glasses and have also found silverplate flatware (pre 1940's), and my wedgwood collection (small pieces of jasperware, porcelinware, mostly from 1970-1900, but some older antique pieces).

I contacted replacements.com about the flatware, as well as a couple of dealers on ebay who sell the same pattern. But I'd really rather not deal with shipping all the breakable stuff. The cobalt dishes are coming with us, probably, as they will sell better on the East Coast (thanks for that suggestion!)

If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.

Default On EBAY you"ll find what you need.

On EBAY you can go to the china section, search for the brand name, pattern name, all types of things. I use it as a reference, and its pretty reliable.

You"ll get some idea of what it's selling for too.

Good luck.

I've done that - I'm looking for somebody to buy the stuff in one lot, or consign it. I do not want to deal with shipping or individual sales.

I've found a shop that will take the silverware and the wine glasses on consignment.

Now I need a place to take a large number of Wedgwood items - china and jasperware - current (1970 to 1990) and about 20 antique pieces.

Thanks, Barb. I thought of that, but they are out of business and the number is disconnected.

Oh my. So sorry. Seems like I just went by there the other day and saw the store. Oh well. Nothing lasts forever.

There is a new consignment shop opening in Tempe.

IIRC this store is currently taking in goods with plans
to open retail sometime in May.

Here is a link to a place that I have been to a few times:

iConsignstores.com

They seem to have "older" nice quality items in their physical location and they use the internet to find buyers.

It's interesting that your replies are mostly nothing local, which is what I was guessing that you wanted.

I wish you would have said what stores you've contacted. I think consignment is a bad idea, because you won't do well. The main guy I knew for the antiques gave up his Scottsdale shop a couple of years ago. But I think you should try finding at least two takers, so that you can compare prices.

There's a place I've seen online called Ruby's something - and they're based in Mesa, I think. You might try to track them down.
