I am looking for a place to buy a "break glass" hammer. This hammer is hung next to the glass case in which a fire extinguisher would be placed. I need such a hammer for a project I am doing. I could buy this online. But I really would like to buy it locally (EV if possible.)

I have called 2 local fire extinguisher supply stores and they do not have it. Anyone has any idea?

Go to any auto parts store and buy the little hammer they sell to break a car window in case of submersion. Or wouldn't any small hammer work? I have some tiny ones that came with cheap hardware kits or picture hanging kits.

This "break glass" hammer is found with the glass case of a fire extinguisher. I plan to use it as an accessory to an award we are making for a to-be-retired fire marshall, hence we need this to be "the" hammer.

I will try harbor freight, thanks.

Any more suggestion?

It sounds like your looking for what is called a "rock hammer", pointed on one end and flat on the other. These you can find at any rock (gem & mineral) shop retailer.

Here are some pixs of rock hammers...Rock Hammers & Picks

But if you can order it online, won't that do? Is there a time issue for the presentation of this award?

Yes. And shipping for buying online will cost as much as the hammer.

Wait, I have one!

I'm not serious. You should call a fire station if you need one locally, very soon.
