Be careful and do bring plenty of water!

That happens to several people every year along with people leaving their pets and kids in the cars to bake. Typical news story.

Unfortunately, BurtsBees . . . much too common.

Hiking in summer in AZ w/o water is a death sentence. I really cant figure out what would possess someone to head out w/o water, I mean, really!

It's easy to point a finger, say how stupid someone else was and believe that it can't happen to you. Being an almost lifelong resident of Arizona, I hike every morning without water. [Death sentence is a bit dramatic---sorry]. But I'm conditioned for it; if you're new, it's another matter. Just like I might be screwed if I set out during a North Dakota blizzard. I would highly recommend new folks to go hiking in the morning or late evening. Water can't "save" you, either; heatstroke can happen anyway. It's best to hydrate before, during and after a hike, and I say this regardless of my example ;-]
