From what I've gathered, tarantula hawks are not at all aggressive. You'd really have to grab one to get it to sting you. Not that I have any intention whatsoever of testing that theory.

Forget lizards. I heard on the news today that coyotes are attacking people in the Peoria area. Mother nature is turning on us.

Redjan1225 - Thanks for mentioning Tarantula Hawks....
Something I have never heard of before, but after googling, it will now be added to a large (and growing) list of insects/arachnids that freak me out

Something stung me 8 years ago when I was hiking in Yosemite and it hurt like "H E - double toothpicks" for what felt like 5 minutes. I didn't see what it was, only felt something largish and hard hit the back of my leg, but now I'm thinking I might know! Yuck.....
