Been awhile due and its good to see it. The monsoon season seemed to start early with a bang but ended up being pretty weak, I'm not sure when the last time is we've had some real moisture around here.

Good = pretty flowers. Bad = sneeze

Good amount of hail on the Phoenix / Scottsdale border, just north of Papago Park (McDowell and 64th). This was after an entire morning of cold, COLD winds, accompanied by bands of light to moderate rain.

No, it was definitely hail. I have been reading the NWS Special Weather Statements and Significant Weather Advisories, and all of them mention hail.

reminds me of the post several months ago by a new Phx resident who marveled at the local news station interrupting a show to say it was raining in Gilbert....

I also have to laugh at the local news stations' TEAM COVERAGE of MONSOON ALERT 2012 with STORM TRACKER RADAR and numbers for lightning strikes per hour

Yeah, being from Colorado, I'm laughing at "sleet storm" to refer to less than 5 minutes of something. I might consider that more a sleet interlude, or sighting.
