My main point is don't get a masters unless you're following a clear track that needs it. A lot of people finish a bachelors, don't get a great job that first year out, and decide to go back for the masters. They come out with a ton of debt, no experience, and the expectation of making big bucks.
I have a BBA in Management and looked at becoming a CPA in 2000. Each State has different requirements. I was in BHC, and would have attended UNLV. It was the two year work experience as an understudy that killed the deal for me. The Big 8 is no more. Even if they abolished income tax, there would still be a huge demand for accountants. Software has allowed the model to shift to lower skilled workers, but you can still earn a good living and you can tell nana that you have an "inside" job.

Short answer: No.

These days, A/P is basically a data entry & filing clerk job. It doesn't really help build "accounting" experience.
There are a lot of things to consider. Salary would be a huge factor in determining where to move ... however, even if the offer wouldn't be that great, perhaps the OP is looking for a beter location. That really means a lot. I know that if I had a choice between Alabama and Phoenix, I would choose Phoenix.

I also agree with some previous posters that getting a masters degree may not be the best option. It CAN help in advancing to a better position, but the key word is CAN ... there's no guarantee. It seems like these days, a college degree is only slightly more prestigious than a high school diploma, and many college graduates only have a mountain of debt to show for it. Experience is what helps advance a person ... not necessarily college.
