I keep it on 72-75 depending on how often I'm home. I don't work from home or anything though, and our AC unit was replaced last year before we bought the house. It's single story.

Is that in Maricopa?

The difference between your apartment and your house is pretty extreme. I'm surprised you can get by that cheap at 72-75 all the time. Mine is at 82 or more 98 percent of the time, and I can do that price with SRP. It would be a lot more (and I'd be freezing!) if I kept it anywhere near 72.

Bguar That sounds so much better than the really high figures I was reading before.

bguar's numbers sound terrific to me, too. Mine is pushing $400 in the summer and that's at 80.

Frankly, those numbers sound impossible, unless he or she has insulation in the house like none of us have.

To the OP-- I would not put a lot of credence in those numbers, or anyone else's, really, in determining what your bill would be. We have threads like this all the time, the numbers are all over the place... there are just too many variables.

When we were house-hunting a couple years ago we looked at a few properties in Maricopa (ultimately ended up buying in Gilbert) and included utility rates as part of our research.

The rates charged by ED3 are significantly higher than either APS or SRP......
