Looking for a family friendly neighborhood/area with good or great public schools. Budget is 300-350 and would like some mountain views or be closer to the mountains. Any help is appreciated.

As is always the 1st question - where will you be working?!!!

Phoenix is HUGE - and commutes can be long. So the answer to this question will dramatically affect the advice people here can provide.

Need to be within 45 minute of the airport. Gone three days a week so my commute is mainly the airport.
Thanks!

We call them mountains but I think they're more like hills all around town.

Las Sendas springs to mind. Maybe Mountain Bridge. Ahwatukee. Fountain Hills. Estrella, toward the longer end of the commute. Maybe Gold Canyon? Those last two are less "suburb" and more "outlying", to me.

Originally from Oregon and now in Oklahoma City, I will call those mountains compare to what I see now.

I have two neighbors who are airline pilots in Estrella. It takes about 45 mins to the airport from here. By that I mean to the parking lot or the terminal is someone is dropping/getting you.

There are some gorgeous homes in Awatukee, tucked away in and near the mountains. Prices vary all theway up to one million plus. Its Kyrene school district, excellent and very close commute to the airport.

You could also try Chandler's 85226 area. Very good schools.

You can get a pretty nice place close up to the North Phoenix Mountain Preserve (around Squaw Peak) which is 15 min away (30 in heavy traffic) from the Airport. You are still in the city and close to most everything but it seems like you are far away from it all. 85028, 85020, 85016
