We suddenly have about six of these in the kitchen. They seem content to just sit on the wall. They are about the size and color shown in the picture. My guess is that they were attracted by the light we accidentally left on in the kitchen last night, and now they are just hanging out enjoying the day.

Looks to me like a Green Lacewing:

Green Lacewings, Beneficial Insects in the Low Desert

Very beneficial insect here in the desert. We have them all over our citrus trees eating the thrips and other insects around our yard.
