When I image search "Phoenix" on Google or Yahoo! It comes up with pretty standard images of the tall buildings in Phoenix, the stuff you would see on a postcard. I am moving in a few months to Peoria and have not been to Arizona yet and want to see what the area is "really like" not the propaganda I am finding online so far. Does anybody know where I can find some real pictures of the area?

THank you!

martina26, I will post some soon. I'm trying to learn the best way to do it. I'm sure other wonderful people on here will soon share their Phoenix area photos with you also.

Heres a good start. Alot isnt of the Valley, but should give you some general ideas.

Just curious... is this for a job transfer? If not, it seems like a gutsy move to move somewhere youve never been nor even know about.

I had my digital camera on me today and was able to shoot some video around north Glendale/Peoria which will give you a good idea of how the area looks. It's taking forever to upload to YouTube but I'll post it up once it's all done.

Winter weather, yes. Summer weather? Im sure youll think otherwise once you experience month after month after month of 100 degrees and up. Summers there are incredibly hot and incredibly long, I hope youre up to it!

Here are a couple links to Phoenix-related pictures:

Images: Phoenix In Focus (http://phoenixcityliving.typepad.com/photos/profiled_residences/index.html - broken link)

Images: Phoenix Living (http://phoenixcityliving.typepad.com/photos/images_phoenix_living/index.html - broken link)

Some of these are "postcard" images, but there are quite a lot of them, many with brief descriptions. Hope you find them useful.

Yeah, I am not looking forward to the super hot summer weather, but I am so excited for the rest of the year, and to get away from constantly feeling cold, damp and miserable in Seattle and to actually be able to be outside in the warm sun for once!
