My fiance and I are from two very different backgrounds. I am from rural upstate NY and come from a very conservative Methodist church. My fiance is from northern Louisiana and his parents were heavily involved in the Baptist church. His Dad was a preacher (God rest his soul) and his Mom, at 85 is still actively involved in a couple of churches. When I go see his family I love attending his Mom's church - even though I am one of the few white people there I always feel welcomed. We have tried a couple of black churches here in Phoenix and while I don't feel out of place at them, I feel the size of the church and the focus is more on how much money they want to get from us rather than on praising God and learning more about the Bible. Are there any churches here thar are smaller and open to inter-racial couples?

Thanks for any advice....Color Blind in Love

Default Hi There. Try Word Of Grace Church

in Mesa, Az. I don't know how far away that is for you, but it is a great church with a multicultural congregation and sound biblical teaching.

We sttend church at a homeless center. A lot of people in the coomunity go to church there and all kinds of people from all kinds of demographics. It's not about money since not everyone can give. It's non denominational. Our pastor was from our church and opened up the homeless shelter and a lot of us followed him. I can pm you info. It's not fancy at all. Not big or anything elaborate. We love it there.
