Even though the dress code is very casual (jeans, t-shirts) where I work, for an interview an increased level of formality is assumed to be necessary. I doubt that someone that showed up in anything less than suit and tie would be called back for a second interview or receive a job offer.

I couldn't tell you. There's so many people. Unless it's an attractive woman and/or someone I get an oppourtunity to chat with, I never remember them. All I can do is confirm some men come in minus jacket (including one today).
