What I mean is, like your lifestyle (might have gotten healthier or the other way around), started tanning, lightened hair (or darkened it a bit), and eating habits changed at all, since moving to Arizona??

Well, I changed somewhat since moving here, in 2002. I got divorced, went out more, go jogging more, got a tan now, and my hair changes every year (to dark blonde to dark brunette; depending how I want it or how I feel). I eat alot of yogurt, fruit, and veggies too now.

It's strange how the southwest part of the U.S. can really change you in ways. Do you agree??

I do notice when visiting PHX that there seems to be a disproportionate number of people who have blond hair. I always think, "I wonder how much that costs?" I'll just stick with my cheapy highlights on my brown hair.

I'm not blonde, and I've lived here for 20 years (long dark hair gets really hot during the summer!). But, when I moved back here years ago, I came from a temperate climate with lots of rain, and I agree that the heat did change my eating habits. I can only eat rich, heavy foods when it's cooler. They make me sick when it's hot out. I see that as a positive though because I eat a lot more salads

I don't get why so many people pay money to tan here. That seems like a waste. I get a tan naturally from just driving in town during the summer, and I like to be outside anyway, so I get a tan pretty quickly, even though my skin is pretty pale otherwise.

I've been in Phoenix since April of this year and I've noticed a few changes. It's definitely more relaxing here than in the Bay Area but I am not sure if I like this area or not. The drivers are horrible (and I lived in California most of my life where the drivers are not so great but AZ drivers....words can't explain) and I am still questioning the quality of the schools here. And although people just love the weather here once summer is gone, I still believe I am more of seasons person than I originally thought. But then again who knows...I'll just enjoy living here for the time being. I am trying to convince my husband to move elsewhere, like to the East Coast.

Haha, a lot of the drivers here are from Cali.

But that's off topic.

True - but I've heard that it's the non-natives who are the ones who use their blinkers whereas the natives do not even know how to turn them on. I've seen some strange stuff since living here and I've lived in other states where the drivers weren't as odd.

Actually, it's not relaxation - it is just a continued state of deep thought of trying to figure out what there is to do around here to kill the boredom. (Kidding. Kinda.)

This reminds me of a drive down I-17 on a 4th of July weekend. Being in a cool area in the morning, I was dumb enough to put on shorts. Then there was an accident or just a jam around Phoenix... don't remember, but I chugged along in the city for a looong time. What I do remember is that I almost started smelling roasted pork . The smell was coming out of my poor thighs.
