I lived in Phoenix before I moved to Colorado.

When I visited here for an interview in May of 1977, I remember that I had to add hot water to the flow in the bathroom sink to brush my teeth because the tap water was way too cold!

I was used to the hot tap water in Phoenix. I don't miss it!

And I don't miss cold winters, enjoy your tap water temps. That's the last reason I would ever think to move for.

I thought that I was in heaven a couple of weeks ago when I stayed at a resort in Palm Desert and could take mildly cold showers any time of the day. Now I'm lucky if I get two straight minutes of warm water before it gets very warm and that's with me showering first thing in the morning before it gets hot out .

I remember taking a shower the other day and reaching for the faucet handle to move it to a colder temperature, before remembering that there is only "one" position any more and that's all the way to the far right on cold. It stays in the same position now and never moves. I would love to figure out how to get more cold water while showering .

I finally had to turn off my water heater. I had it on pilot since May but like yours the water was getting way to hot even at the lowest shower setting. Now with these lower temps (sub 110) it actually feels better, not ice cold but cooler.

Yes, but don't drink it! (of course) even after it cools down.

Warm tap water during the summer is near the bottom of my complaints about our area

My pipes run through my attic (old house). The water is scalding hot all the time in the summer. I prefer it in a weird way.

Interesting...i've always wondered about that. My well water here in Wisconsin (down about 60ft) is still mid 50Fs...between summer/winter..it only varies a few degrees. My pipes sweat some in summer when it's humid. A cold shower up here will have your teeth chattering.

Sounds awesome. We just don't get cold water here in the summer. At all. The pool? Warm water. The outdoor drinking fountains? (If you can touch them) warm water. Water out of your faucet at home? Warm. Showers? Warm.

Even if I put the shower temp all the way to "cold", its still got to be around 85 degrees. Its ridiculous.

But alas, ice cubes are readily available so cold drinks are not an issue. Hate to say it but this is truly a first world problem and in the grand scheme of things really not an issue at all.

its funny how so many of the things that are complained about on CD are first world problems...

I will say that I hope our cold water gets at least coolish in our house, but I wont know for another week or so..

I find it hard to believe that for some folks, the "cold" water is warm even in the fall/winter/spring, but I guess I will soon find out
