Worry less about the crickets, they eat other bugs. But...is this the lil bug? https://www.city-data.com/forum/arizo...on-please.html I hope not. Here is a link to a page that offers a search to help you identify the bug

Your LL is obviously not the type to do what he is supposed to. Know that going in because the pool and the house should have been in move in condition....note that for future reference re: your deposits and fees you've paid up front. Good luck on things.

I don't know what area of Chandler your in but. As for the pool, it may be a result of the dust storms we've had. I can clean my pool in the AM and if a storm comes that night in it will look like I have not touched it in months.
As for the bugs get it sprayed. Is there any chance your belongings picked up the bugs in the moving equipment?

Ya, you could have picked up some bed bugs on your travels, know people who have done that.
Or, your wife could just have gotten impetigo from the dirt if you aren't use to it. Put some anti bacterial cream on them to make sure, if they go away with that then they aren't bug bites.
We have these little brown beetles here in some homes but they don't bite, they are small and brown and can fly. Harmless though. Crickets are everywhere around here as are roaches but spraying does help with those.
The pool will look like that after storms out here, watch some youtube videos on how to clean it and run the filter. You might want to add a shock to the pool after a big storm so you don't get those pool bugs.
You'll get use to it, other than that I hope things are going better for you. Sounds like you have a rental company who won't take much of a glance at your issues. Rules are rules. Sorry about that, next time rent from a private owner, most companies suck. IMO of course.

I know, my pool can be just sparkling and then one of those storms will blow through and it looks like I've abandoned it for months.

Crickets are scorpion food, so you do need to get rid of crickets to help keep scorpions away.
