I've been on vacation to AZ a couple times in the past two years and I'm pretty sure about relocating there. Both times I've been there in March, and I am trying to plan a trip for this upcoming March for between 8-10 days.

I really don't want to move out there with no job. So I'm trying to think how early is too early to apply for some jobs, send some resumes, when I won't be able to be there and have a potential interview until March? I've seen a couple of job listings that I think would fit me but I haven't applied for them and I'm guessing personal departments don't really pay that much attention to out of state applicants.

It's been a while since I've searched for a job. I'm not in any specialized field.

I know how I want to handle the potential "back end" of a move. I'm 99% sure I would ship my car ahead to AZ, then fly out there. I'm not married, no kids, no house, one cat.

I'm just trying to time the job hunting and apartment hunting process together for when I'm in AZ.

Thanks for any tips.

I'd start now like you have been. Most companies are OK with phone interviews. Get a job first then come join us!

Have you never been in the summer in AZ? Before you make decision you have to spent week or two in July or August

Depending on the type of work you’re looking for keep in mind that many companies don’t hire permanent fulltime workers in the last quarter of the year. They tend to want to keep the headcount down and wait to hire after the first of the year. It makes their end of the year budget look good for the stockholders………

Like one of the previous posters, start applying right now. It doesn't hurt to have your name out there now, maybe it will open up your options.
