Any comments on this hotel. The reviews are pretty decent and so is the price. For a one night stay...cooties or not?

There's not a hotel with a Best Western affiliation in downtown Phoenix. Are you thinking of the one by the airport? That would be the closest one to downtown. I don't know anything about it now, I haven't been on that property since I worked for Best Western many years ago. I would think that for one night, it would be fine. There's not much around it, though, so keep that in mind.

There is also a Best Western in DT Scottsdale. I don't know which 'downtown" OP was referring to but that one is very nice

Best Western used to have a property at 1100 N Central Ave, in the outskirts of downtown Phoenix. The name changed to Lexington Hotel, and I guess now it's being remodeled and should reopen sometime in 2013.

When getting hotels, I always go with Hotwire. Amazing discounted rates. Downside is you don't know exactly which hotel you're getting, but you do know the quality you're signing up for and the general location within a city that it's going to be.

It was the Lexington while it still was affiliated with BW; I thought of that one, but they dropped the BW affiliation even before they closed, so I didn't think the OP was thinking of that one. Until we know which "downtown" is involved, it's hard to answer the question.

Probably talking about the "best west" on van buren just east of 7th ave. lots of folks confuse the name, and if a poster asks about price/cooties- best west sounds right...

Big difference! Reviews I saw were not positive. If I had to stay in that area, I'd stay at the YMCA down the street before I'd stay there.

The Agoda ratings from the International travelers were pretty good, but I think I will give it a miss. Days Inn at CB LR looks like a possibility and the EZ Airporter on S. 7th has been there for decades.....
