Hello All,

We have a 2006 home (3700 sq foot) in Surprise. When we use our heat, there seems to be an increase of dust in the house. I'm assuming that my vents probably need to be cleaned. I do see heavier dust on a couple of the main ceiling vents.

I counted and we have 34 vents in the house (3 air conditioners). Some charge $30 a vent. I understand it takes 5 hours for a couple of guys. I realize there is overhead on the equipment / labor but I am looking to for recommendations on a "reasonable" price ($500) or $50 per hour per guy versus a Grand or $100 per hour per guy. There seems to be no shortage of scams so I wanted to reach out and see what other people use.

I would want whoever does it to look for any leaks and repair them. Any recommendations?

Thanks!!

sears. That's who I used right after I bought our house. You won't have to worry about scams and that upsell for mold or whatever it is nowadays they try to sell you on, which is total bs. Their prices are on their web site and is the lowest around.

ceiling fans deposit extra dust on high wall vents, I wouldn't worry about it.

Be careful MN-Born, if you have flex, someone with a brush cleaner could cost you a lot.

I have flex. I've gotten that advise from another person who I trust as well. I'll proceed with caution.

Bluegrey.. No fans in the dining room (14 foot ceilings). Basically it's the only room where I see a lot of dirt. That said, I might just opt for doing the 1st floor duct section.

One good tip that I did get is to tape the filters around the edges. That's were the dust comes in the easiest.

I'm still gathering info. I have a lot of other projects going on in parallel. My biggest bother is the dust (more of it settles when the heat/air is on). I am wondering if there might be a leak somewhere inside of the system which is causing the problem.
