My neighbor lived in Phoenix for a few years and was telling me that the tap-water contains a high rate chromium 6 a cancer causing agent. He also stated that Scottsdale's water was a bit safer less chromium. I wonder if anybody living in Phoenix has concerns about that?

Yes, I read the link.
It meets federal guidelines but they did not answer the question "is it safe ". One can only hope.

I know there is not a lot of trust for the government, at any level, these days, but the report clearly states "Phoenix’s total chromium levels measured entering the city’s water lines leading to your tap are
well below the EPA standard of 100 parts per billion."

Of course you could believe your neighbor, that used to live in Phoenix. I am sure that he/she has conducted their own tests that have shown a high level of Chromium 6. Doesn't everybody?

The real funny thing is... people drink bottled water what unregulated is, and pay through the nose for it, while water from the tap is regulated, constant tested, and about 10.000 times cheaper....

And no waste as in plastic bottles, who are by themself pretty dangerous for your health...

People may not know but bottled water, unless otherwise clearly stated on the label, does not need to be filtered, cleansed or treated in any way. Most bottled water is just bottled tap water. I'll take my own thermos and drink my tap water. It's a bit high in calcium but other than that, it's not bad...

I use Aqua Viva Silver Bullet water filter sticks in my water. One small stick in a 1/2 liter bottle, or a large stick in a 25 ounce bottle, shake them up and they filter well. I just clean the sticks in white vinegar and water once a week, and they last a long time. The filtered product tastes just like bottled water.

I used to fill water bottles at the machines, but now I dont need to.

I found that the tap water here is not bad tasting, compared to Seattle tap water, so I just drink it. Who knows where that bottled water comes from, its just convenient for me when I'm on the go.

I think the water we've got here (south Tempe area) is the worst I've had, period. I haul a 3-gallon jug up four flights of stairs almost every day as a result. We won't drink it, won't cook with it, won't make coffee with it, and we buy bags of ice so we don't have to use the ice from the refrigerator, either. Awful.

I use it all the time for cooking, drinking(with crystal Lite),and ice, the water that comes out of your faucet is inspected and tested on a regular basis so it is safer than most bottled water.
