So I'm a big fan of Phoenix's 60's era mid-century modern and have been for almost 20 years. Trying to be ahead of the curve when houses from the 1970's start to be looked at in the same fashion. Anyone want to hazard a guess which 70's & early 80's neighborhoods may be a good candidate for gentrification?

Used to live near 35th Ave & Peoria in a neighborhood of houses built in 1969-71. Before the real estate bust the neighborhood was starting to get a little bit of attention because the houses were solidly built and had some interesting architecture. Mostly leftover 60's MCM touches here and there on some of the houses.

Can't afford to buy into any of Phoenix's cool little retro 50's & 60's neighborhoods, I'm guessing the next era might be the 70's.

Like you said the metrocenter area and the homes within a 2-4 miles of there would be a good candidate of gentrification. The area is pretty centrally located(by today's definition as the city extends so far north now) and a lot of the homes are nice and good build quality. I've always like older homes myself. Older renovated homes with modern day features and conveniences are my favorite!
