That's what I miss about MT. Could be 100 during the day but drops off to 60's at night. Never did have a/c there.

sorry, a rambler is a single story home, its what you call a ranch home here.

with such high energy costs, I am fortunate we can afford it, just curious how the "less than middle class" does it? Its certainly got to stretch the budget.

$637 because the kids were home (summer). Off peak plan, set at 77 from 7pm to 12pm From 12pm to 7pm it is set at 83. Pool pump is set to run at 10pm to 8am. This is for a 3410 sq ft home. Last year, without trying to conserve, we paid over $800 during the same month. We consume a lot of power (We have 6 TVs, PlayStation, computer, 2 Fridges, Freezer, Wine Fridge, Dorm Fridge on Patio)

Mine was 398.00 for a 3000 ft 2 story house. I too have a lot of electronics, computers, etc. People home all day.

I'm actually quite happy with the bill given the last home I was at our bill topped 700.00 for July. That was scary. I have a friend in an older home with a bill of over 1000.00 in the summer months. She has a couple of out door refrig. and a pool. Her home is older, and I don't think she has one item deemed energy eff. lol

$214, single story, 12 foot ceilings, 1372 SF, many, many single-pane windows unfortunately but sun screens on all. I keep it at 84 during the day when I'm not home, then at 82 from 4:30-9PM, and 79 when I go to bed. I freeze all day at work, so 82 seems about perfect for me most of the time

Wow these High Ac/electric cost are making me rethink moving to Az.
Granted I only want a 1800sf home roughly w pool. But paying 2-300$ month in Ac is expensive. Wow

Our home is 2100SF and is kept at 80 degrees all day and all night because some of us are home during the day and some are home at night. Our last bill was $296. We are on the time of use plan which involves not running the dishwasher and washer-dryer between 1pm and 8pm and we do a pretty good job of sticking to it. The home has no energy upgrades (solar panels, tankless hot water heater etc..) but does have insulation in the exterior walls.

I doubt they stretch there budget. I'm sure they just keep their thermostats at 85 or 90 degrees and suffer.
