Hi,

I'm considering a move to Phoenix- I will be renting a single-occupancy apartment and would prefer to keep the monthly cost under $800. As I have never visited the area, can anyone advise me as to which neighborhoods I should look into in the greater Phoenix area (I don't mind if the neighboorhood isn't in the heart of the city). I am unsure of the cost of living in this area and how much $800 or less will get you for housing. Criteria I would consider would include: keeping within my price range, living in a safe community for a single young woman, and preferably living around the younger set. A bonus would be to be within walking distance of convenience services and cultural venues. However, I will take safety over excitement if need be. I would like to start setting up some appointments to view rentals for the winter- any feedback as to desirable neighborhoods will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

So now you're moving to Phoenix after all? I thought you already decided on San Diego?

I would think that you would want to get a job before worrying about housing. Phoenix and San Diego for that matter are huge cities and you could end up with a two hour each way commute.....
