I really like this pool deck and would love to know what it is.

They look like one of a many types of cultured gray field stones for patios, pools, driveways etc. You could research them on google.

Hmm interesting. I think I would even do this on my driveway and front patio instead of the brick pavers. Anyone familiar with, know of a company, or have any additional info?

Thanks!

They do a bit but they are so squared. Most field stones I've seen have rounded edges, maybe this is the new look. But, whatever it is it looks nice, I wouldn't mind having it around my pool either.

This is the field stone I'm use to seeing around here.

Here's a web site for one of the largest stone suppliers in the Metro area. I've dealt with them in the past, they are very reasonable and extremly helpful. They can help you identify the exact stone you're looking for.
Anasazi Stone Company, Inc. Phoenix, AZ // Tucson, AZ

It looks like a concrete coating to me. Here is a link to one of several companies in the area that do this with some pics. (look at the pool deck - tile pulldown)

We just had this company do a slate look finish on our patio - love it!

All those decks look awful. It's the style I hate, especially the flagstone.... I've only seen flagstone in old homes, are people really still doing this over pavers and travertine? I don't know what those slate decks are, they look like a regular kool deck painted.

I thought the same thing. That website is doing that company no favors. I suppose it's better than plain kool deck but they look very outdated. If I were to redo mine, travertine pavers would be my choice.
