No, no city, including Gilbert, is infested with scorpions all over the city. If you are moving into an established neighborhood, not out on the desert fringe, and your neighbors don't have a scorpion problem, it's likely that you won't, either.

hey Christine!....you can pick one up at the airport gift shop....and it comes all encased in a stunning lucite paperweight!....

ramrod: keep your place, including all the nooks, crannies, and corners, all swept up.....I also have never seen one (in or near my house) in my 39 years in Az, though I do live in town, not out in the desert....

Multiple posts deleted.

The OP is a brand new poster with a concern, well, fear, we've seen before. But the OP doesn't know that history. Put yourself in her place, and respond accordingly.

Ramrod- There are NUMEROUS threads here by posters with concerns like yours. If the neighborhood you move into in Gilbert or whereever is an established neighborhood with no adjacent vacant areas does not have an issue with them, it's likely to stay that way. Controlling their potential food sources (other bugs) in your yard is always a good idea, in case there are a few around... they will go elsewhere.

Some homes have them in Gilbert and some don't. Heard a lot of people off Queen Creek Rd. have them and for some reason off Riggs Rd. don't or at least very few and outdoors mostly.

You have to spray here, then you'll be ok. Trust me, I'm a big baby when it comes to those things. I'd rather deal with a Mountain Lion. I've been here an eternity. lol

It's really not as bad as you thing though, I've had them in previous homes before and never got stung either did my kids.

You're more likely to see a homicide in Chicago before you see a scorpion in Gilbert...
