Hey all! I am currently in Peoria, near Arrowhead Mall. The schools are great, the pricing is not. I love in a townhome and am wanting to rent a house until I can sell the one I own in Colorado.
I am curious which cities on the west side are the safest with great schools and affordable home for a single mom? Any opinion is helpful, thanks

Surprise and Goodyear are two great cities with lots of potential with the growth planned for them. I love Surprise. You can check 85378 zip code on Truila or realtor.com. You can find some decent homes in one part of Surprise, close to shopping and Bell for under $150,000, I am sure you can find a townhome as well. Find a good realtor to help you hunt for a home.

Thank you! I probably should have mentioned, I need to rent right now, until I sell my other home

Move a little east of where you are along Bell Rd. and maybe 51st-59th ave or Greenway and 59th. These are areas with older homes and rents should be cheap.

In a serious time crunch. Can anyone tell where to look for rentals? Legitimate websites or real estate agents? Just trying to piggyback on my own post!

Thank you

Look on Craigslist under "apartment locators" - there are a couple of big firms that do apartment locating, and they usually have a couple of agents that specialize in single-family homes as well.

You might also try desertwide properties (desertwide.com) - they are one of the larger property-management firms in the valley & many of the properties they manage never make it on MLS.

Unfortunately I don't think we can post links to websites considered competitors. Have you used

Zillow

It provides a map with icons to find houses. I found it very useful when moving to Tucson years ago.
